Volunteer Training

I meet with managers and volunteer co-ordinators and discuss the individual training needs for their organisation then design a training programme to meet those needs. I set clear learning outcomes that are evaluated at the end of each session.

Skills based training includes:

– Volunteer boundaries, where the edge lies

– The value of confidentiality

– Cultivating a positive attitude in volunteering

– Increasing the optimism of service users

– Looking after your own well-being

– Being an effective listener

– Great governance for Management Committees

Bespoke Training (specific courses for volunteers and staff)

– Safe Guarding

– Grief and loss

– Getting service users out of their comfort zones

– Increasing the motivation of service users

– Increasing the well being of ourselves and those we support

– Assertiveness training

– Motivational Interviewing

– Careful lone working
